This annual event is our signature fundraising activity to allow us the opportunity to provide scholarships to the youth in Washtenaw County community. This year's speaker will be John Mason a Detroit radio personality and Detroit Piston Announcer, click here for his bio.   We invite you to save this date and to join us celebrating the Dream of Dr. King. Information for tickets, sponsorship opportunities, and advertising in our souvenir booklet will be coming soon. Also please note the venue change for this year's ball.

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA 

It is scholarship application time for many students and the Ann Arbor Club of NANBPWC Inc. has scholarships ranging from $500 to $1000 available for the 2019-2020 academic year! 

The NANBPWC scholarships are available to any African American student (female or male) attending a public high school in Washtenaw County who has achieved a senior (graduation) status.

 

Application Requirements:

  • Completed Application (See attachment)

  • Two (2) Letters of Recommendation (one must be from a school staff member)

  • Official Copy of High School Transcript

  • Official Copy of ACT or SAT Results

  • Essay Statement (150 – 200 Words)

 

Primary Award Criteria:

  • Financial need

  • Academic achievement, including grades, rank in class, standardized test scores, and achievement test scores

  • Community/extracurricular involvement

  •  Leadership

  • Participation in specific activities

  • Awards and recognition

  • Personal or family attributes
